Looking for another dressage saddle as I have now sold mine, which didn't fit me... have Prestige jumping saddles, which I love because I am small and they have a small seat and narrow twist and so I am considering the Prestige Dressage saddles, but don't know which might suit me or my horse best - does anyone have any recommendations and what type of horse does your fit?

Optimax? Roma? Hippos? Doge? etc...

I've got the D1 and love it. My horse has big shoulders and a short back (he's a PRE). I do everything in it and it's so comfortable.
I can highly recommend that you speak to Zoe Taylor who was recommended to me via a forum.
Good luck!

I tried a D1 & it was gorgeous, I am 5'4, size 6/8 and have quite a narrow pelvis, but don't like a saddle that feels too restrictive (but secure enough that I'm not floating around in the seat). Down side was my horse didn't like it. He's short backed with large shoulders, so we thought it would suit him, but he wasn't happy in it, so I didn't buy it. Not that I think my Dad would have paid that much for a saddle in the end

I had a Optimax. It was a gorgeous saddle, bought through Zebra Products.

Only problem I had with it, is that the pommel was very low. I bought it for my 17.2hh German warmblood 4 year old who wasn't yet fully grown (wither hadn't come up completely).

If you're on a horse with a lot of movement, or on a bucker, you may find yourself launched in the air, with nothing helping you to stay on up front.
I had this experience. So, depending on how your horse is built (uphill/ flat/downhill) - it may be suitable or not. I had a pro riding my horse at the time, and the pro absolutely refused to ride in that saddle, as there was nothing to keep her on if he bucked (which he did). She put her own saddle on to ride him, as she felt more secure in it. I ended up selling the saddle for this reason, and lost loads of money...as you do on saddles :(

Another point, is that since they are fully adjustable, they are good for youngsters, because you can get it adjusted as they change shape.
