Prestige v Whitaker - help !

Im looking for a medium fit 17" 2nd hand prestige jump or event saddle and there are none to be found on ebay or horsequest... so I ring and speak to saddled direct and they tell me that the Whitaker saddle are the same manufacturer as Prestige.

My local saddler said thats tosh.

So.... can anyone shed any light on this ? I can find lots of 2nd hand Whitakers but no Prestige saddles at all...

help ! getting desperate now !

I too have been told that Whitakers were originally made by Prestige, and have had it confirmed by my saddler. The person I was looking for one for asked the family involved with the design of the former and they confirmed it.
