Does anyone have any experience of a Prestige Versailles Jumping Saddle? Thinking of trying one for my horse (16.2hh Irish Sport Horse). I am only 5" 1" and currently ride in a Land Rover GP saddle, which I love, but wonder if for jumping (currently jumping about one metre courses, but hoping to go up to about 1.10m) I may feel more secure in a jumping saddle?

I have a prestige meredith D and love it !!!!

I tried it - it's quite small, reminds me of a pony saddle (i'm 5'1/2/3 ish so good fit for me) and really light. But gorgeous and I absolutely fell in love with it and would have used it for sjing up to fox/130.

It has an independent tree so it can move more with the horse, which sounds fine, but the panel isn't attached to the flaps underneath the saddle so you can almost see the stuffing. Personally just felt like paying £2k for something that looked like it was going to fall apart, so sent it back. Seller was a nightmare too.

I'd advise trying a few different styles, i booked a fitter with the intention of having the meredith but then adored the versailles instead, and hated the arezzo. Now got a Stubben Gemeni(?) that is very similar to the versailles and a lot cheaper!

I think many foam panelled saddles are like that, don't think it's anything to do with the tree. I had a Paris D many years ago and you could get your hands in behind the panel in the middle. Flocked panels are attached to the sweat flap. I don't fit foam saddles so my memory may be playing tricks on me, but I think if it fits you and your horse go for it - it's not going to fall apart, and is £1200 not £2k anyway!

Sbloom - i originally looked at the meredith which is £2200 and the versailles is £1600 (from the fitter i had) so just guessed at £2k.
I was also buying a whole Prestige set of tack at the time.

But £1600 or £2000 or £1200 i still wouldn't spend any of those amounts I wasn't entirely convinced about!

With regards to the tree/panel I'm just going on what the fitter told me when I asked.
