Prestwold Hall BE - anyone been?

Daughter did the PN last year. It is a nice straightforward 'hunting' type course. A few questions (did have alternatives) and a lovely setting. Last year it was very wet and was the only event to run that week. Lorries were parked on the old airfield and it was a trek. The ground was well managed generally though.

I walked it last year and thought it was an ideal first timer course, bit of a trek to the dressage and SJ is on a slight slope. Yes fences were dressed, but nothing horrid. The water was really nice, just walk in and out..... Ground was very nice too..... Good luck

When we had a 4yo entered there 2 years ago for his first intro PAVO thing we were all terrified - rider said she was more scared than going round Badminton!!!! However it was very green and he did get round ok.

Its a typical Stuart Buntine course, plenty of fences will have come from Oasby/Shelford so all nicely built and some were well dressed but others very much au naturel. The SJ was very normal not too bright/flowery etc.

Nice event

Normally the lorries would park near the first and last fance, they were moved due to the ground. The fences were dressed but not leary. There are some mushrooms with little wooden animals, a fence with cars parked nearby, but mostly nice and natural. It is organised by the Buntines who always do a super job.

Yes, nice course.

Fence 2 caused a few problems for baby horses last year. Very straightforward but it is in the fence line and right next to the trade stands.

Other than that I think it was pretty straightforward.

I will be there with my little ex-racer. His 1st time out BE!!

I seem to remember the showjumping was on a bit of a slope which made things a bit tricky, but otherwise I thought it was really nice. I'm there with a 5yr old - his second time out - I'm hoping it will flow better for him than Keysoe did, as he's lanky and long striding.

but have a pupil running the PNRF if she can get swapped in for it. If not she will be running the Intro RF.
Either way I will need to be there.
