Anyone want a 14.2 Stoppy mare? Free to a very bad home!!!! I am now resting my foot with a bag of frozen peas on it, feeling sorry for myself! Little cow tried to run me down, I mean how dare I bring her in to groom.

My 17hh ID/TB did a tap dance on my foot on Friday. It wasn't broken, I could move all my little piggies but it hurt like hell and I now have a hoof shaped briuse on my foot. :)

Ow!

My mother once broke her little toe.....getting into the bath! She managed to catch it in the handle on the side of the bath. She was hobbling around for weeks!

Which toe is it?

Join the club, I am nursing a broken little toe, that resembles a Cherry Tomato .... three weeks on :o

My lovely little Cob decided that something in the distance was very interesting and wham he plonked this huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge size 10 on my foot.

It has kept me away at night and all I had for sympathy was ..... " you should wear steel toe caps " ......

ETS ... hope yours feels better soon ;)

When I was about 13 I have a very evil 15.2 (she really was evil) and she stood on my foot, probably on purpose. When I took my welly off it was full of blood, I staggered blubbing to the nearest house where they took me to the local A&E. She had stood across the nail bed and gouged it right in. They took the nail off - ouchies.
I do panic when I get stood on now!

Oh no eaglestone! My dad said the exact same thing when I walked in "you should have worn steel toe caps" that doesn't help me now! I am praying it is just badly bruised but we shall see! Hope yours gets better!

Mine broke mine the first day I got him, I was actually unloading him from the trailer as he arrived he jumped off and caught me and my toe off guard..blooming agony

Mine broke my little toe standing on my wellie clad foot - yes I have steel toecaps now (but I still wear wellies around him!) Hubby told me it couldn't possibly be broken if I could move it (soon dispelled that myth!) so I hobbled round on it for 3 days before I went for the x-ray. Hospital just strapped two toes together and looked at me as though I was an idiot when I asked when I could ride :D Did find it very painful putting any pressure on trying to rise to the trot and think it was something like 6 weeks before it properly healed - amount of pain from a tiny toe was surprising!

I broke my toes falling out of bed then thought it was just a bruise and I went on a two hour hack after. Problem was I couldn't get off the horse as I couldn't put weight on my foot!

I had crutches for a few days but had loads of bruising damage aswell as the toes.

Get it checked if it's playing up x

I don't think theres much the hospital can do apart from tell me its broken. Although if its still bad in a few days I will go :) wow so many broken pinkies on this thread!

mine broke two of my toes, a couple of months into owning him - I was being a good mum and taking him for a little walkie in the field to eat some fresh grass - he saw a horse and rider coming towards him in walk across the field -he leapt high into the air, as he came down he bowled me over (sent me flying), and managed to land on my foot before he took off like a flippin maniac across the fields...
I was totally crippled, but had to haul myself up and hobble about trying to catch the little bugger! It took a good 6 weeks to heal, the toes were also taped, but that did nothing. Ouch!! I must admit, I was wearing wellies at the time ;)

Don't hobble about too long without getting it looked at just in case. As well as taping it up the hospital said to me that I'd be better wearing something like trainers that held the toe firm rather than walking about in "comfy" shoes.

Oooucheeee! Poor you! :(

My HW shire x mare stood on my foot once, I screamed and you've never seen her move so fast!

OH took me to the a&e, they said it wasn't broken but I still have a funny mark there and that was about 7yrs ago!

It is much better today, the swelling has gone down and I can bear more weight on it. I can bend it, but it hurts to stretch it out and put all my weight on it. But deffently a big improvement on yesterday.

My young horse tore my big toe nail off 5 times in one year. It has eventually grown back but it is a grungy yellow, wonky and has lots of ridges.

Why do we have horses again?
