As per the title really.

My poor girl cut her face up a bit coming out the trailer the other day. They are mostly superficial grazes, except for one rather nasty one by the corner of her mouth one side. It's already healing fast, with the aid of Derma Gel, but I am concerned it's going to scar, and considering using Dermatix (this stuff: http://www.dermatix.co.uk/) on it. I have some I got for my worst scar, ironically mine is also just above my lip and is care of this horse double barreling me in the face!

It is expensive but medically proven, as a nurse i see it prescribed by plastic surgeons after mastectomies and the like.

Other topical treatments do work to a point, basically because they soften the scar tissue but at the end of the day it will still scar just a case of reducing it as much as possible.

No idea for horses, but for humans I'd use Bio oil.

LOL! Human scars, I'm far too well experienced with, after having my face demolished by a pair of hooves. Although I use bio oil under my moisturiser each day, personally I think Dermatix is much better at dealing with scars; it's what my maxillofacial surgeon prescribed me :)
