Previous Owners...

I havn't kept in touch with previous owners... but the owners of the last one I sold keep intouch with me :)

I get emails and pictures of her... which I think is lovely

Sadly no, I sent the previous owners of my mare a letter and photo to say how much we loved her but never heard back, my gelding I rather got the feeling that they were just glad to see the back of him!

With our first pony, we didn't really keep in contact, but after 18 months I told her we were going to sell him and she bought him back. N

Next one came from a dealer and their name was the first on the passport so no-one to contact there.

Next one, we did email maybe once a month with progress reports but after a year the previous owner's daughter was killed, and I didn't email then, as it was too upsetting for her. I did tell her when I sold him and told her where he was going and what he was going to do.

Present horse is on loan and owner is a facebook friend so she sees what we are up to with him etc, although in the 2 years I've had him, she has only seen him twice!

The girl we sold the pony too keeps in contact with my daughter and is a prolific youtube-er so we often have a look at vidoes of her riding him.

I do with my mare and my filly, but not with my gelding, which is sad, as she was a friend of my then partner, but pony was in a bad way when I took him on and she cut ties... not sure why, but never got an explanation as to why he was so poor.

Yeah but thats mainly because they are in our PC.

I kept in touch with Koko's old owners as she had him since 6 months and was her pride and joy, she even came and watched us compete once and sent a lovely letter when he died.

Those are the only people have kept in touch with though.

I found my boys old owners via youtube who told me a LOT about him (bought him off a dealer). Before that in fact all my horses bar one were bought off a dealer/from ireland and the only one that wasnt I have since sold - but was in very close contact before then (liveried at her house for a bit!). Person I have sold him too is now in contact with me and I send occasional txts to see how he is - he must be almost 17 now and I have known him (old owners owned him) since he was 2 years old so would be odd to loose contact and i do regret selling him :)

Forgot to say the other one I sold I kept in contact for a bit (through the passport a dealer sold him for us) but he had to then be retired for wobblers and so have lost contact - last I heard he was making a nice field ornament. The others very very sadly got PTS (all early), retired or still with me!

I bought mine from a friend who was an instructor at my old yard and we have always kept in touch. In fact I kept him at her mum's livery yard for a while. I have been so lucky as she has been brilliant at helping me out and offering advice when needed but never interferes.

Yes I do we keep in touch via Facebook & phone. I only brought him off her in January and she has been to see him twice. She didn't want to sell him, she had to due to ill health. He was her pride and joy, and now he's mine. And we have now become friends.

I do, we talk regularly on the phone and via Facebook . She is fairly local to me so she has been to visit us too. We only brought him back in January and she didn't want to sell him she had to due to ill health. He was her pride and joy and now he's mine too. And we have also become friends.

I think it's lovely to keep in touch with previous owners :) I do with regular texts and sending photo's over. It's good when she offers advice and re-assurance too.

She's allowed me time to get to know him and will hopefully be coming to see him soon :D

I think it's nice for the previous owner to see that their horse is in a loving home too.
