Hi there,

I know it's diffficult to see online but struggling to put a price to my horse. He's nearly 17.2hh Belgian WB rising 7 years trained in the basics in dressage, has been jumping 90cm in the school consistently and is of lovable nature, easy to do etc. He does bolt in one particular area of the school every now and then but other than that I can't fault him. Any ideas?

He hacks better in company than on his own, doesn't do anything bad, just hets scared on his own at times. I must admit to not like hacking so I haven't done much of it, although he has been fine in light traffic, good with barking dogs, tractors etc

These ridden ones are from early last year, sorry no recent ones

I ask as someone called me this afternoon, the father of a teenage girl that has been riding him, (and she's good) and offerred me £2k which I didn't think was much. I know I will make a loss on him but I thought £2.5k was fair as when he 'perfoms' as he does most of the time he is very very impressive. As my partner and I have split up I am unable to look after him as I cannot get to the yard where he is and cannot afford to keep him indefinately, hence sale and reduced price. I am out of ideas.

Oh don't advertise for 2 grand though - that IS too low. You may want a quick sale but you also want a fair price and he is worth more than 2 grand. Put him in at £3,500; people like greys and you can always drop your price if someone gives you an offer.

Why don't you put him out on loan. You cam increase his value if someone takes him out competing etc and you never know you maybe in a situation to have him back! I have just done it with one got him out and put miles on the clock and the owners are going to keep him now! Just another idea for you!

Unfortunately, I have no one to ride him, I can't get to the yard any more on a regular basis, which is why I'm selling him, no yards closer either sadly.

i've pm'd you vikki, about having him back.
hes filled out nice since last summer, how long have they had him on loan ?
what have they been doing with him ?
he was always fine out hacking with me alone and in company but gets a bit fresh when he gets grass under his toes.
oh but he could be lazy in the school too,
