Have mare advertised in both UK and Ireland, and very little genuine interest / suitable buyers interested.

16h very nicely bred ISH (sire has successful eventing progeny, dam has showing progeny)

7yr old, backed as a 4yr old but only been in work for 6/7months through no fault of her own - shes jumping coloured poles (3ft) and small XC fences (2ft6) been out in company and alone, perfect in traffic, honest to a fence, snaffle mouth, 100% catch/shoe/box etc

She has no competitive record but she is ready now to go on and start competing with a capable rider. Expressive paces and lots of ability.

There are plenty of her type being exported and sold at hugely inflated prices by dealers in the UK... seems nobody is interested in buying direct!
I've also seen a lot of what I would call an 'allrounder' being advertised as 'eventing potential'. Perhaps she would be better off advertised as an allrounder, because of her age... though she should have as many years in her as a green 4yr old.

Any opinions on what she should be priced at?

You are not marketing her properly. These photo's are doing you no favours. Take the rug off and let people see her moving. She has a beautiful head, but show her mane trimmed and preferably plaited and wearing a bridle. The jumping photo is blurred and the rider and horse look scruffy. Presentation can add £2-3k to a horse.

Oh they are old photos of her... I didn't put any up as I don't want to come across as if I was trying to advertise her here.

I have advertised her in several places, using different photos, a really good quality one of her head, a side on, a clear one of her jumping undersaddle, one of her loose-jumping 1m20 and giving it loads to spare etc

Example of the headshot one

And was prepared to email more photos/videos, but interest was nil!

Can you send a link the adverts? That way you may get some better advice and if the price is reasonable or not.:)

I have just sent you back a really long PM and hope you have got it please let me know either way if you have or not and if not I will do it again :)

For those of you who kindly PM'd me with advice, there has still been very little interest.

Aswell as that headshot these were the photos I chose... do you think there is anything that stands out in them?

Conformation, her hocks look a little weak as she isn't standing exactly straight .. but again, I have other pics taken from directly behind/infront to show she is straight... however not suitable for ad.

Do you think this would be a better one for conformation? She looks a bit scruffy because she still had remnants of her winter coat - and of course, shes not 'smiling' :o

Or do you think its time to start reducing her price? She was bought to bring on and sell, and keeping her much longer is really going to start eating into any profit. :(

Once again, opinions on a price estimate would be appreciated, thanks.

she looks a little thin to me.. but then again im more used to ponios so I may not be the best to comment ;)

in your ad do you say how she is to hack ouy? your description above didnt mention it so people may assume she cant?

she does look quite poor... Does she look better now the spring grass is coming through with a nice shiney coat?

How much do you have her up for? Difficult to say whether you should reduce her without knowing that first...

Maybe put her on a different site?

If I saw the first picture, I wouldn't have given her a second look TBH, she stands awfully awkward and it doesn't do her any favours. The last photo, however, shows a very nice horse:) even if a bit 'scruffy'...

'Been out in company and alone, perfect in traffic'? Perhaps I should change the wording, to hacks out?
Actually looking at her ad, I forgot to put in the bit about traffic. Thanks!

She needs muscle covering certainly, she has a well sprung barrell which unfortunately makes her ribs visible... with the grass having come through, they are covered now, but anything else will have to built up with work I think, not food.

I don't think she needs extra fat covering? Recent picture in better light... lol, as you can see, the only thing the grass is doing is giving her a massive gut! It does go down when shes brought in though thankfully.

(I took her out to see if I could get a better photo of her, but I was on my own and the grass was far too tempting, that or she kept turning to face me :o

So the first picture is a 'no' then.
Have her advertised for 3ksterling, and 'offers' ... because of her age.

Had one Irish buyer interested, arranged viewing, who then decided from the extra pictures I sent on that she was too fine. And one UK buyer, who didn't want to even bother viewing, wanted to buy unseen, who then never returned phonecalls. Obviously found something closer to home.

Hi, i dont really like the 1st picture it makes her neck look narrow and she looks alot older on that picture.
The others are better, try and get some more ridden pictures as the schooling one would be nice if it wasnt as blurd and jump her bigger under saddle, you sid she can jump 3ft so take a pic of her over it. People want to see the best of what your advertising.
If you get the pictures right i cant see why you wouldnt get that money for her.;)
Good luck x

In your advert i wouldnt put about topline id leave that until the people ring you as seeing that automaticly makes you think the horse is underweight and not worth seeing. When you have got them on the phone you can explain more as you have got them interested in her

Why are you selling her that is another thing to put on, IE sad sale excellent home wanted for much loved horse only for sale as i havent got time to keep her in work etc or whatever the reason is.

Other things like she woould be worth alot more if i had the time to bring her into work again etc.

She looks in better condition in that new picture! (you obviously need one with a head ha ha!)

I think £3k is reasonable. Maybe have a whole new photo shoot, on a nice day where she looks shiney and none of the pictures are blurry.
