Price of a bale of hay

As the title says really- last year I paid £5 per small bale and I was wondering if this year is likely to be more or less- has anyone got their hay yet? I'm in Worcestershire

I just paid £5. They didn't have any £4.50 bales left. Bloody good stuff though!

Was £3-50 a bale here up north last year! Really good hay too!

currently £5 a bale, duno what it'll be come the winter but our farmer does us a lower price because we livery there

I seriously need to look into this year, storage is an issue though. Any fool proof (waterproof) ideas for making outside storage work?

In bedfordshire i pay £4:50 direct from yard owner but i think its £5 for out side peeps

Need some haymaking weather if not most our grass will be silage as long as can do enough hay for my two horses.

I get a large bale for £20!!! (only because i know the farmer but makes such a difference) Think it is generally cheaper for larger bales tho

Farmer yo makes his own, £2.50 last winter & what's left of last years harvest if we want it over summer. He said might have to put it up to £2.75 this year though lol. Nice hay too.

£3.50 a bale off the field this year, in the south east. normal price is around £5 a bale

More than happy to get it off the field! When you say big bales- do you mean big rectangular or round ones?

I've just bought a massive bale - infact I've never seen one so big! Must be 10ft long! Approx 35 large wedges for £40 delivered! Not bad!

Mine are big rectangular ones, much easier to use than round ones when feeding a lot, it falls into large flaps.

I will not try and weigh them for comparison but either way we both get a good deal, I use haylage in the winter same price for large bales and the horses love it

Big round bales are £25 to £30 round here but I don't have storage for them so small bales it has to be
