I think you'll find most farriers are around £55 for a new set, especially if you pay cash!

Horsey world is known for bounced cheques and so cash is king with farriers.

i pay £57.50 for a set of shoes, then its 50p a road nail, and 50p a stud hole! Apparently, this is really expensive for my neck of the woods (mids), but im more than happy to pay the price, as my farriers fab!

I feel lucky.... I'm the only one 30-40, is in between that depending on cold shod/hot shod. 40 for hot shoeing, 33 I think for cold.

Mine is £60 a set, with road nails, but hes the business, and I think hes well worth it. That is a bit above the odds for around her but he has always

1. Turned up when he said he would
2. Came out same day/ early the next if I lose a shoe out hunting

And when my brother-in-laws horse went to Rossdales they said they had never seen a better balanced hoof! (Same man).

I pay 85 for 2 front shoes, 150 for a set - yes I think this is dreadfully excessive but thankfully the majority of mine are barefoot. I only pay 25 for a trim on all fours and that I think is acceptable.

Hi Beau I use Billy but think he's not taking anyone else on at mo!Someone at yard already asked him. He's one of the cheaper ones, can't remember how much for single set tho as I've usually got the 3 or 4 getting done but was £132 for 2 new sets and refit if that helps and he also hot shoes now!!I can five you his number and you can but ask tho!!or Jasons number.Theres also that new guy L was using.

£56 for full set with 2 stud holes behind.

Excellent farrier, reliable and has managed Finni's feet really well. Also, comes out quickly to fit lost shoes (although I do supply him with lots of beer

I pay £55 a set with stud holes and hot shod. I have a fantastic really reliable farrier he runs a diary and then texts me the day before he is coming to make sure everything is the same or if I have any requirements. He does good remedial shoeing and works with the vet ( I have a boy with spavin and my other horse needed special shoes before we retired him) I had a couple of really unrelia ble farriers before I found him

i pay 50 a set or 55 with road nails, refits are 45 farrier is brill and will come out asap to replace a shoe and usually catches the horse to do so and turns it out again when hes done he doesnt chase me up for payment either!

A new full set for Cairo is £90 - joys of having a clydesdale.

He is barefoot most of the year - but has them on for a few months when the ground is hard and dry. Luckily I have had them refitted three times now so it only costs £60.

Normal sized horses are £55 for a full set with my farrier.
