Keep seeing horses advertised for 3k saying they'll jump any country, first or last.... IMO Bull S**t!!!!!

I've spent a lot of time with my wall jumping Rockwood pack, been doing a bit of hedge hopping with the meynell today and I've got to say - Badger was pretty good!!!

People have put him down on here because he can be strong - in big hunting country people don't care!!!

Not sure what the point of this is but I feel like I'm riding a 15k hunter, why didn't anyone tell me that when I wanted to sell him??

My friend is looking for a decent hunter, and the pricing seems to be anything between £6k and £15k...... that's for anything over 17hh

The pricing of horses must be one of the strangest phenomena’s! I have been looking to buy for a couple of months, and my goodness I've seen some sights.

I've looked at horses between 3K and 9K and tbh some of the cheaper ones were better and IMO worth more than some of the more expensive ones! I saw a shocking horse recently on for 6K I wouldn’t have given 1k for, it was 10 yrs old, not the best confo, an enlarged hock, splints, looked and felt like it had a sore back, didn't track up and was so incredibly nappy and sharp even in its own school, and had such a miserable attitude, I couldn't understand what on earth possessed the owner to think it was worth so much money. I think it just needed to be loved, but at that price it won’t find anyone to love it :(

Luckily I have now found the one, and agreed a price.

Agreed. You shouldn't be finding one for less than about 4k unless hunting is ALL it does, ie won't hack alone and has a few other quirks. I also wouldn't buy or even sell a hunter unless it was fit and triable on the field.
