Pls could you advise what you would expect to pay for a HW cob 8yrs good safe hack good to shoe + load, good to do around, green needs bringing on.

Hes green in the school as been used predominantly for hacking and nothing else.

£2,500 is the absolute max I would pay (others might pay more), and I would have to be able to see some potential for jumping or showing to pay that.

Client bought a very safe full up 14.2hh mare (nervous/novice ride) that was 9. Knew basics school wise and that was all. Showed potential over jump. Had won at county show as youngster. Very stunning to look at and paces and paid £3500 including tack.

So depends what sort of quality he/she is.

I paid £1500 for Fudge, two years ago, he was very green in the school (still needs work on his canter), fantastic hack in company, didn't hack alone, was sometimes bargy, didn't lunge, he came with tack, a rug, passport and was upto date withs jabs etc. He's a Welsh D and unusually marked but has no papers.
If I was looking to replace him it would cost me between £2500 and £3500, if I was looking to sell him I'd ask £2750, including brand new made to measure Ideal event saddle costing £800, two bridles, rugs etc, he's 14.3hh, 9 and still a little green in the school shows potential for jumping, showing as he has lovely paces, bombproof hack in company, excellent to handle shoe, traffic catch, load etc, hacks alone, lunges, long reins, suitable for experienced rider to bring on or confident novice to hack
