price to charge for standing/mowing grass?

As title, plus grazing for sheep till end of Dec after hay made. I have had a chap use the field(seven acres) for several years, now need to find another. If any one could give me a rough guide of price per acre to charge it would be much appreciated.

A lot depends on what restrictions you are going to put on the chap. However we are paying between 30 and 60 acre for similar land. Ie if you dont want the tenant to use fertilisers or sprays it will be bottom end of that .
There are lots of variables so it is difficult to be more specific. Is the land registered for single farm payment? that makes a huge difference! Where are you?

We are Nr,Cambridge, and the land is registered for single payment. The last chap made about 450/500 bales of hay. He then grazed around 100 sheep Sept/end Dec. Thanks for your reply.

not very far away then I am near Huntingdon. Have you done anything to protect your single farm payment ? Have you been claiming? Do you know you will not be able to claim it from now on if you only have 7 acres?

In a livestock area I would say yes. However where the OP is situated getting any interest may be the issue ! Any sheep in that area tend to be on grazing they are being paid to use. Its not a typical market also the bottom has dropped out of the hay market around here so I really am not sure where the demand is coming from. With that amount of land I suspect once you have been through the advertising ,drawing up agreements there would be very little money left.
