Hi, just setting up a new business and have been doing reasearch on price v postage. What would attract you? A low product price but with a higher postage or a higher product price with a lower postage?
What is the first thing you look for?
Many thanks for your help in advance :)

For me its just an all round competitive price. If its an item I need then I will have a rough idea of how much I expect it to be and also a rough idea of how much the postage will be.

I wouldn't buy something if I felt the postage was hiked up.

Often you don't get to see the postage price until part way through ordering, but I have been known to abandon an order if the postage is too high. Overall I suspect the product price is the more important but, in my view, the postage shouldn't be making the retailer a profit, it should just cover the cost

TBH I always check the delivery cost & delivery times before proceeding on a website shop. If the delivery seems expensive or likely to take too long, I dont even get to the stage of looking at item prices, I just move on to another site.

Delivery cost needs to be clear from the start for me, preferably viewable at the top of every page. I also like sites where the postage if free/inc in the price (one of my fav sites is cheapsmells.com for exactly this, that and they are SO cheap!).

:)

I like free or cheap post. I resent paying a lot/obviously inflated price for one item Also need to have a quick and simple ordering system, if i have to create an account and it looks like it will take a while, i move elsewhere.
