I just want to say a public thankyou to my fellow livery and best friend. I hope she logs on to read this.

I have a tough couple of years, health wise, and she has helped me every step of the way. From looking after my horse when I had my bad times to keeping him going under saddle even though she has her own and a full time job as a teacher to hold down and the past year having her wedding to sort out.

Just when I thought it was all getting better, I am now being tested for a debilitating progressive disease and once again she is there, sorting my horse out, and he is not an easy horse! when I physically can't and being there when I am bawling my eyes out with pain. Nothing is too much trouble for her. She is priceless.

I don't think I can ever repay her but I just want to tell her thanks for being the best friend a girl could want and I love ya loads :)

Writing this in tears. Would do anything to help you out, and you've done more than your fair share for me. Just so lucky to have found my best friend just up the road!!

Love you loads, xxx

P.S. I only do it cos she's got a stunning 17hh Catherston Springsteen gelding!!!!

Ok, have now composed myself! Let me list Balibee's attributes!!

She always looks after my horse when I visit family/on holidays.
She treats my horse as if she's her own.
She has helped me to produce some cracking horses with great advice, jumping lessons and pole moving.
She has been to every show with me, course walked, held horses, rolled cigarettes, bought tea etc etc etc.
She has supported me when work has been tough, when wedding planning was hellish and with some major life changing decisions.
She throws an amazing chilli/curry party!!
Her family are wonderful!!
She gets us free Burghley passes for marshalling on cross country day!!

Sorry for the cheeseyness but feel so lucky to have such a wonderful friend who is always there for me.

Sounds like you have a very good mutual appreciation society:D
Life is hard with horses but good friends are a blessing:)

what lovely posts. I hope that your friendship continues ad infinitum.

true friends are hard to come by, hold onto them for all you're worth, with all your heart and until such time as you can do nothing other than go your separate ways.

You are both so lucky, not only to have one anothers friendship, but to properly appreciate it. The special friendship that you two share is a wonderful and priceless thing. My nan always said "to have a friend, you must be a friend" but it appears that you already know this!
My best friend died suddenly last year and i miss her terribly. She knew how much i loved and appreciated her, just as i knew what i meant to her, as we too had spoken of our reciprocated gratitude. This has helped me come to terms with losing her (but i miss her every day) and i urge every person who is lucky enough to have a special friend to tell them just what they mean to you and how much you value their friendship.

Ah bless you, I am sorry for your loss :( I totally agree that friendship should never be taken for granted and that it takes no time or costs nothing to say thank you to a friend or tel them how much you appreciate them.

I am glad you have been left with some lovely memories of your friend x

Lovely post, reading this first thing in the morning, its given me a lovely start to the day. HorseAddict's nan is very wise, to have a friend, you need to be a friend. So true.

I agree with everybody else, what a lovely post :)

Balibee - I hope your illness proves not be be as bad as it sounds it could be and that you are well enough to ride again soon.
Riding really is the best medicine sometimes, not being able to would make it all the worse for me :(.

Good luck and well done DellaMoon for being a great friend to her :).
