Hi guys, hope that it's okay for me to ask this here! I'm looking to try and sell my pony, 14.2h 15 year old Connemara X mare. The trouble is, I have no idea what price to put up? I don't want to overprice her but then again I'm afraid that I think she is worth more as I love her to pieces :D

She has hunted for 12 seasons with mainly 2 different hunts. Done all pony club activities up to C+ test (twice!), never had a cross country fault be it in hunter trials or eventing. Evented the last two summers at junior (90cm). Very honest pony, showjumped up to 1m. Her flatwork is not great at the moment as current rider does not want to put the effort into it. She has won every hunter trial in our county. Quiet enough that we sit out small cousin (3 years old) up on her and lead her around. Bombproof on roads and around farm machinery. Perfect manners at all times. Farriers love her :D loads herself and can also be loaded and unloaded by a child doing it by themselves. Only thing is that she can be a bit nervous, was beaten as a foal unfortunately.

Is there a market for this type of pony at the moment do ye think? Would love to see her going to a good home so hence, don't want to put people off with price! Tea and biscuits if anyone made it this far 😂

She is 110% sound (touch wood!). Only problem we ever had with her was that she developed a splint last Christmas very close to tendons which caused heat in lower leg. Perfect now though :)

She sounds wonderful!! If she is safe for a child to do pony club I would think more than £2500

Thank you :) she is exceptionally safe, never bucks/rears/naps in any way. She can be left out in the field for weeks and you can hop up bareback with a headcollar and ride her up the yard. My 10 year old sister often hacks her out on the road as well.

Perhaps spread the word at your local pony club. What price did you sort of have in mind? Why are you selling?

Yes I must let them know. Had around €2500 in mind (apologies should have mentioned I'm in ireland!) but wasn't sure due to her age and the bit of nervousness. Selling as I passed her on to my sister last year and she has lost interest, pony has only been ridden once every 2/3 weeks since about september so she needs to be fittened again. Younger sister (10) has her own 13.2 and she isn't showing a great interest so decided that there is not really a point in keeping this pony for her as she won't ride her.
