It seems to me that this is a real grey area and needs looking at.
I take all the comments on board and I am really thankful. All the comments have been helpful (if a little confusing). The thing is I don't have a horse(WHAT! I hear your cry)!! and don't plan on buying one. Would it make a difference if I did 'own' one of them?
I'm not interested in a business or making a profit - just to cover the costs of upkeep and damage done. I have spoken to her and she has been feeling the same and wants to contribute. So we have agreed that she will contribute towards maintenance and energy costs. Let's see how it goes....
