As title, sorry its not in vets but was thinking more people come in here!

Took my lad bsja sat, he was 2nd and so nothing wrong with him. Now he is a little s*d on the lorry so half way home he decided to kick off! (with hobbles on!) Just throwing himself round abit, and also kicking partitions.
Got home, unloaded him and he was lame. Swelling on thigh area of left hind. Hosed it and but muscle embrication on it. Next day did the same, then that evening swelling still there, but lump also. (on looking it looks about the height where partition ends, and rubber skirts begin, so where hes whacked himself.

So shall i carry on hosing twice a day, and box resting him? Also how long if its just a knock sould it take to mend? Or shall i ring vet if no better by end of week?

Thanks> sorry for all the questions!!

that's nt an injury i have personally had (touch wood!) but from the sounds of it, if it were my boy i would get the vet out for peace of mind.

it might also be something that would go down better if the horse were turned out, but again, vet! sorry!

hi,it could be a deep bruising in the muscle cos when i got booted in the thigh by my horse i got a huge bruise and a lump in my thigh what was there for a while even after the bruise had gone and when i pressed it it still hurt.it could be the same thing, have you tried arnica gel on it cos thats helps with swelling and bruising?

Thanks will have to get some anica. I think its bruised and sore, will trot him up later see if there are any improvements!
