Noticed a wet patch under rubber matting in my trailer yesterday. Had a closer look and it looks like rain has come down the whole side of the trailer. I assume that the trailer sides have a wooden panel between the metal outside and the padded inside? So now worried that this wooden panel is rotten. I read a thread on here yesterday saying that alot of these trailersn were recalled in approx 1995 ish due to this problem. Mine is an older trailer. Is there anything I can do as regards to calling Ifor do you think r would this be covered under insurance, perhaps accidental damage? HELP!!!!!

personally i dont have an ifor williams but there is wood between the outside plastic and paddded inside as we had to take off the spare tyre as it was inside and in the way of my chunky pony
as long as you have good insurace im sure it would be coverd
hope this helps :)

I put my fist through a friends older 505 a little while ago:o Leaking from above is a huge problem and it will eventually rot the panel.

They're easy to replace. Ifor do the entire panel, which just bolts on (hardest part is getting the old bolts off if they're a bit rusty).

If you 'accidently' put a hole in the wall it may be covered by insurance. But the company aren't stupid and will be well aware the panels eventaully rot and go soft.

I was me, I bought one not realiseing it had this problem. It only went for a service and I was told it should have been back years earlier to have the work done. I was lucky, my floor was rotton down the sides and I hadnt noticed. IW wouldnt do it for free as apparantly the trailer had 'had its chance to be done' years earlier. I ended up trading it in as it was about £600 ish to get it done. They said the sides werent a problem to do and quite cheap but they would be a different colour as mine would have faded massively. The floor was expensive as it was putting in the new alloy floor
