Please be careful that you don't do too much too soon. You've only just got her back, take it slowly.

[/ QUOTE ]
sorry what about anything ishy has posted over the last week has made you think she is doing otherwise?

She looks great, so glad to see you on her again! It's great news
smile.gif

I might be being silly but is your saddlepad on backwards
tongue.gif

She looks lovely but whats the hurry? Riding twice in one day and now lungeing and schooling in the same session and its only a week in of you being back on board- you knows shes sound now so whats the harm in building up slowly and looking at a more long term rehabilitation and hence more likely to have a long and sound ridden career. It seems a bit like you are trying to do everything in a week just in case she goes lame again- going round in circles in a sand school in extremely stressful on joints and muscles, plus this week she has to adapt to having a weight back on her back and as she has been out of ridden work for a while these muscles will take time to build back up.

um i think you are jumping to incorrect conclusions, how do you know how much work ishy is doing with Sol? Yes shes lunged and schooled in same session, that doesnt mean she has done too much, she may have lunged for 5 mins and ridden for 5 mins, that wouldnt be to much would it. I dont see there is anything in her posts that would suggest to anyone that she is doing too much too soon. And I think your comments could be very hurtful to someone who clearly only has her horses best interests at heart, and is already petrified of breaking her.

lunging could of been a warm up, and she might of only ridden for a few mins walk and trot. dont think anyone should jump to conclusions
smile.gif

u look fab and so does ur horse
smile.gif
why was he/she unsound? missed other posts
smile.gif

wildpoppywild - as i think ISHY isn't here anymore i shall answer - i am sure someone will correct me if I get it wrong but she was diagnosed with navicular also also I believe a shoulder problem, but not sure about that bit.
It's ab fab to see her back in work - she is b-e-a-utiful!

I am being very careful , I really am. Ofcourse it may look like I'm not and nothing I say will convince people otherwise but I am doing what my vet has recommend. Nothing more , nothing less

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes ! It is on backwards ! The reason behind it is that my saddle is too forward cut for it the other way round so when it slips back it leaves her shoulder uncovered .. I found this way round it

a) stayed still
b) if it did move there was still something there

[/ QUOTE ]

There isn't one but for reasons I won't babble on about now there is a very specific reason why I am doing what I am..

[/ QUOTE ]

As someone else has said , You( nor anyone else) know how long she was lunged for , or ridden for so saying it too much work is ridiculous unless you knew that key peice of info
wink.gif

As for Saturday yes she was ridden twice and I think I justified my reasoning behind that on Saturday when someone picked up on it
smile.gif

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Lets face it she's never going to have a long and sound ridden career
wink.gif

Again everything has been discussed with vet and YM prior to it happening.

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Again , I can't try and justify it anymore as sometimes people don't want to hear it but EVERYTHING I do is under the guidance and scrutiny of a couple of proffesionals. I understand how stressful lunging can be and that is why she did the bare minimum that was required. FWIW the vet recommend she was lunged before work
smile.gif

I don't know what else to say , yes you may just have my horses best interest at heart or you may just want to pull me apart I don't know .. but nothing I do is to intentionally compromise my horses soundness and well-being
