During and after hacking my horse gets the squirts there is nothing else wrong he's alert forward going and a few times does it as he goes into a trot he isn't worked hard we stay in a walk and ten mins max if trot he goes straight back to normal afterwards fully formed etc he has no hard feed just hay when in and is out 24/7 unless fields are flooding but still only comes in for the night. Vet is thinking of doing some tests but would like to hear other peoples opinions please

Pretty much that we need to look In to it a lot more which I don't want to do if I can help it as he hates the vets already and it's a pain to get him to have his injections every year.

as long as he is fine everywhere else and it's just when hacking I wouldn't personally worry unless he was obviously not coping mentally when out hacking.

My first thought was either excitement or worry. I wouldn't let my vet run up a bill doing tests under those circumstances. Are you insured? Be very careful in case you end up with an exclusion when there is nothing really wrong.

I think it's excitement he's only been hacking for the last two months and as far as I know hasn't hacked in the last four years. Insured but don't think it would cover him for it as he isn't in danger and fine in himself in every other way he's mot spooking when out etc so don't think he's scared
