Problem loader:- anyone tried blinkers/ french blinkers?

My horse seems to take the p*** worse when there are others around and wondered if anyone had tried either of these, and what's the difference?
Does anyone sell regular old fashioned blinker anymore like you would have on a driving bridle (can only find whole bridles on tinternet!) or does anyone have any they would like to flog!

You could try and find a racing hood and put it on under the headcoller. Not sure how it would help with a loader. Be careful when leading a horse in blinkers (esp bigger ones) as they can walk into things (our babies are always catching their bums on doorways etc as our stables are inside down a corridor) and you way want to walk a bit further forward than you would normally so they can see you.

Thanks, wasn't sure how much they restricted their vision... lots by the sounds of it! French blinkers (as far I can tell) are just very fluffed up sheepskin covers that fit over the bridle so they can't see behind. He gets as far as his head in the back of the trailer but he is so ditracted by other activities going on behind him he just won't go in until he's the last one left!! Thought blinkers might at least focus his attention forward... can you hear the clutching of straws!!

Used french blinkers on my tb mare who was very skittish and distractedwhen hacking, when I first got her. They worked pretty well, focused her attention forwards and I'd definitely recommend them. After a couple of months I didn't need them any more.

a friend of mine used to load a pony with a numnah tucked in to the headcollar and then took it off once she was in the trailer. it worked every time - not sure how!! I wouldn't follow anyone with a blindfold on and you would think that the pony would have guessed what was happening every time the numnah went on it's head.
