Hi everyone, I have a section D welshy and he is now 9 years old. Ive had him since a 2yr old so i have been the only person riding him. When he was 3 going on 4 i started breaking him slowly, just taking it day by day and not asking much of him for about 6 months. When he was 4 i started jumping him over little fences and he really seemed to enjoy it, always took me to a fence but never too fast. Over the past few years he has seemed to do very well and as a 6 year old he was jumping 3'3 courses with ease. (hes only 14hh bless!) anyways the last year has been a nightmare!! he had the winter of and begginning of 2010 as i put him on a detox course for 6 months. I brought him back into work slowly and flat work he is really improving and doing well showing. Jumping is not so good anymore, he has always been one to buck but some days he will go to a competition and jump everything whereas other days he will just buck and not jump a thing and only 2'0 fences. (same place, same jumps, same height) does anyone else have this problem? sometimes he doesnt jump because he needs a wee and doesnt go away from home so ends up bursting
but hes always been like this anyway. just seems so strange he has gone backwards rather than forwards? any advice help would be great thanks.!!
