I went up the yard thismorning (morning off work) and there were lots of people there (for a change!)
Anywho, the short story is that Ive now got two lovely ladies who are going to muck my horses out for me in the mornings then bring them in at lunch time. In return I have said they can ride. Everyone is now happy! My horses get to go out for at least 4 hours, then be ridden and can stand in till I get there at 6pm. They can go out for longer at the weekend, but I think this is a fab result for during the week. The fields have no grass in them at the mo and the horses look fed up by lunch time anyway, so this is an all round result me thinks.
I can now relax!!

Perfect result. Well done!

Having been in your situation last winter - I do feel for you. So glad you've managed to sort it out.

Whilst not ideal that they have to be stabled for around 19-20 hours a day, its much better than them having to stand in for 24 hours a day. At least they will be getting some turnout and if the ladies do ride them then that will help.

My horse would think it was heaven to be stabled for 20 hours a day!

So glad it is sorted, sounds all round ideal.

None of my horses could cope with being stabled indoors for 20 hours a day. They would be bouncing off the walls. So from my perspective being their owner, this situation would be far from perfect or ideal but if it works for your horse then thats all that matters.

The horses will be getting exercised though - so 4 hours turnout, plus exercise I think is fine.

My horse is exercised 4 / 5 times a week and so only gets around 3 - 4 hours out on these days. Happy as larry (and I'm one who advocates out as much as possible)
