Problems with a Rambo Fly Rug

Has anyone else experienced problems with their Rambo Fly rugs? I spent over a hundred pounds on one of their sweetitch rugs less than 4 weeks ago and went down to the field last night and it has a huge rip in it and not along the seam either. Before anyone says, my horse has no posts or trees to rub on, I have electric fence all the way round.
I just wanted to know because I thought I was buying a rug to last, not one that was going to disintergrate within 4 weeks.
Have I got the right to ask for a replacement?
 
I've got them on all of our horses. I think they're worth the cost as they wear so well - ours last at least two years on even the most destructive horses (that normal fly rugs last two months on). The only thing about them I find is that you have to buy one size bigger than their normal rugs.

Very strange it just ripping.
 
My mare rubs on EVERYTHING. have needed to get a new one every summer, once I believe she went through two. But if you don't have anything particularly bad for her to rub on I'd be quite upset!! I'd have a go at asking for a replacement - may aswel give it a shot. They're expensive things! Are you not able to stitch it back together if not? I've already had to stitch the whole tail guard back on!
 
where is the tear? I'd reckon your horse has maybe got a leg through a surcingle or caught the rug on something. You'd be complaining more if your horse was still hanging from whatever it was caught on. Rugs have to have a breaking point or they would be unsafe. Stitch a patch on it and be grateful your horse isn't hurt.
 
I won mine in magazine comp and have used it 2 years now. My mare rips rugs and breaks clips gadding around but this hasnt one blemish yet (touch wood) and I love it for its durability and success repelling flies xx

My mare has ripped the third (at the back) belly strap off about 3 times, don't think she's getting her foot through it I just think it 'bursts' when she gets up.. she does it on most of her rugs tho - especially fleeces
 
Most of my rugs are Rambo and have always rated them highly, this year I replaced my old Rambo fly rug which I had had for two years no rips but it had gone a bit mis-shaped and wasn't fitting as well.

I bought the Fly Buster and in two days he came in with a rip, not on the seams, I continued to use it as I couldn't afford to replace it, it now has tons of snags / freys all over and is a mess, it also rubs everywhere and now has been binned, so not my best buy and I am really dissapointed with the quality as he has never trashed a rug in his life before so don't think the whole blame is down to him :rolleyes:
