Hello
I wondered if any of you have changed the jockey wheel on your Ifor Williams trailers?
I've got a 505 and it's recently stopped raising the trailer as far as it needs to. I believe something in the top of the mechanism smashed so it's broken. (it's not to do with it being wound too far in one direction- it's genuinely broken) Someone took it apart for me and temporarily fixed it for me but now it's completely useless.

So, I wondered if anyone knows *how* to change the jockey wheel? I understand that it's fairly straightforward. Hoping my OH, with his basic mechanic skills will be able to do it for me.

Any ideas where i'd find a step by step guide?

thank you!

My friend has an Ifor 505 and had to have the jockey wheel replaced. It's never been as good as the original wheel so make sure you find a good replacement!

Easy job, put some blocks of wood or breeze blocks under the tow hitch so that it can't drop down, wind the wheel down, then each time it reaches its limit loosen it, pull it up & wind down again, eventually it will come apart in 2 pieces. Insert the bottom half of the new jockey wheel through the hole, insert the top half & keep winding together the same as taking the old one out until in correct position, remove blocks.
