Producing Too Slowly?!

God if he isnt backed but can walk, trot and canter with a little bend with a rider on board you are doing amazingly well, have always found with young horses i have worked with it takes weeks, months often to get that.

I dont quite understand why you would make another thread about this and rake it all up again if it upsets you.

You posted asking about the value of your horse and got honest replies. Yes, they were lower than what you paid but if you love the horse, who cares? That seemed to evolve into a discussion about the standard he was at (obviously, since people were trying to value him at your request). Clearly you took offence to a lot of the replies but it had all died down.

Why then, post another thread to start it all again if it upsets you?

If you are happy with the progress that you and your horse are making - then just get on with it. You don't need the approval of people on here.

There is some confusion in some of your posts... one minute he's not backed... then he's working in an outline... then he's not backed but he's cantering with a rider. From the point of view of people reading, it IS hard to see where on earth you're coming from with this.

But honestly, if you're happy with him then that's all that matters. Just try not to put yourself in a position for criticism (either constructive or otherwise) if its just going to upset you because if you make posts like these, people will comment.

I totally agree with everything Tierra has said.

I'm glad that I was wrong about you feeling out of your depth, and really look forward to seeing your progress. I honestly never realised you had him working in an outline already!
