Products to make a mane grow quickly

My native has had a large part of his very long mane eaten off by his field companion. I was hoping to show him over winter- but he looks like a punk rocker now its so spikey:eek:.

Has anyone ever used hair pieces in shows? I'm thinking of trying them to see if we can disguise the missing mane. I also wondered what products are best for promoting very quick hair growth.
 
mane and tail groom (mtg) does work really well and was told it was the best product when i was looking for something to help mane grow (it also works on human hair). Doesn't grow back over night but it definitely helps, but quite a few horses are allergic to it, not excessive just a few bumps i think, my mare had a few but went away after a week, so give it a go it does work.

April my boy had a huge chunk of mane missing by the end of July he had a full mane for the New Forest Show
