After reading loads of recommendations about these girth’s managed to borrow from a friend.

Love the stickability as the sticky bit inside the sheepskin edge ( saddle doesn’t move) and can now tighten girth onboard as elastic.

But..... sits really close to armpits , even changing girth configuration 1/3 to 2/3.

He has baggy armpits and even though it’s sheepskin could rub?

Do you all think it’s wrong shape for him and can you recommend anything similar with cut out arm pits?

Thanks in advance

Mine has the baggiest elbows that only got worse when he got older (plus a v. forwards girth groove).
I had the normal backing not the sheepskin and it never rubbed. I'm not sure I have any photos of it fitting but will have a look.

It was the best we had, I put it off for ages for not being shaped. Harry Dabbs waffle worked quite well, prolite didn't, leather always rubbed (other non leather fussy mare has ideal affinity F2)

Two things - don't switch girth straps without checking with your fitter, it can affect the fit, though if it's the old fashioned three straps all together in the middle then it will have less effect. Then can you post a photo taken of the whole horse so we can get context? We need to see how saddle is sitting, and where the girth is coming from on the saddle, to know why the girth is sitting there :). For an inexpensive girth that would give better elbow room the Dabbs Waffle is indeed a really good girth.
