..I moved the poles up last week when jumping the coloured (he's now been sold) and was just wondering how people adapt their position etc when they jump bigger? May seem a numpty question, but I'd rather get an idea of what I should expect because I don't want to fall off! Lol. I'm aware that obviously the horse will be jumping higher so would give more with my hands, and go with his movement, i.e. folding from my hip but keeping my bum down.. But I do think about it a lot, about progressing, and I'd just like to make sure I want for my position in mind. I also ask as I was thinking of going along with some ladies to a XC course and wondered how they differ?

I would just say take it very slowly as I think from your posts you haven't been back riding long. And unless your are suddenly jumping 3ft+ you shouldn't really need to change your position much. Just be aware that as the jumps get bigger your horse will start to use himself a bit more so a very stable lower leg will come in handy so that you don't get jumped off.
