Progressive Earth or Forage Plus

I feed the progressive earth veteran balancer to Arabi I have to split the dose or he won't eat it, tried Equimins he wouldn't touch it.

A few times he has had a sarcoid come up it's been when I have stopped feeding it, he has a dormant one in his nostril that started bleeding in December so I put him back on the balancer and within a few weeks it's almost impossible to see.

Total Eclipse is linseed, seaweed and yeast. There are cheaper ways to feed those.
Yes, and different seaweeds have different levels of minerals. Kelp (mostly animal feed); purple; green seaweed.

I have got really enthusiastic about seaweed foraging.

Also, Seaweed can be very Iron rich that can block the absorption of Copper and Zinc in horses.

I take seaweed myself for Iron Deficiency Anaemia: it’s a very effective source of Iron.

I stopped feeding it when I "went barefoot" for this reason. Just fed a small amount of linseed and brewers yeast separately (alongside a low iron mineral balancer) for a much lower cost.

There was a fashion in barefoot circles to feed brewers yeast, linseed and seaweed, over 10 years ago. However now the iron and iodine levels means everyone has backed away from seaweed.

At the time forageplus were just starting. I remember getting a forage analysis and feed plan but they didn't sell products, just recommended.

I could only get the sulphate/oxide versions of zinc and copper and had to call Equimins to buy straights from their "secret" product list.

I have never understood why they market it as a balancer! I use their chaff and beet products, but this is very cheeky!

I'm actually really cross. I contacted their advice line, made it clear I wanted a mineral balancer and was given the advice to use TE which comes nowhere near RDAs. I honestly thoght they were one of the good guys offering optimal nutrition. From their marketing they seem so convincing. Urgh feel very stupid now.
