Just wondering about this site, do people just want a cheap horse. I am pondering putting my nappy horse on there but am bit concerned if "the wrong people" source animals from them. Not saying anything about the site or people running it, just wonder if it would be safe to put my boy on there.

I think you get the 'wrong' people looking at all of the sites - you just need to make a judgement when you speak to them/meet them.

Good luck with selling your horse - is he that bad that he would need to go on that site though? I always think of the horses on there being either crippled or kissing spines or something - serious issues

no he wont go out on his own, been trying to sort it but no improvement at all. He has been advertised on one site but no interest, I did state he wont go out on his own. This is his only hangup (well as far as Im aware!) he is a happy hacker not competition type horse and getting on a bit. Very sweet lad but I have no one to hack with and this means I cant hack basically!

I really like the site, some of the horses are way overpriced or have problems that are so serious I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. However some of the issues are ones that I personally feel I can sort out, sometimes the issue could be down to rider error, miscomunication between horse and rider, a young horse thats just too much for its owner etc. I usually look at the site and see if there's anything that appeals at a price I can afford.

I'd say that with a horse with an 'issue' your asking for trouble putting him on the usual sites, people will spot a horse thats 'cheap' and you might get a lot of interest from people who just aren't suitable. On project horses people browse the site knowing that there is an issue with all of the horses on there!

I put my pony on loan through project horse as he is a fantastic pony but very very sensitive and he either takes to a rider or he doesn't. By putting him on project horse I could write a bit more about his personality and anyone coming to try him would have an honest idea of what to expect.

I found the most amazing home for him through the site, he's just come back from PC camp, has been jumping 4' and is qualified for Broomies. The loanees are now facebook friends and regularly upload pics for me to see of him.

I think there are some overpriced horses on the site but there are also people who have horses that need a bit more understanding or a particular sort of rider and it allows the seller/loaner to make that clear in the advert.

I just looked on there, and actually if I was looking I'd be quite tempted by one - I always thought of them as either being broken or nutsy, but this one sound lovely, except that he can be bargey to lead. Now, I'd need to ask some serious questions about *how* bargey, what had been tried to fix the issue etc, but on the face of it that is one I might consider taking on. I was surprised to see a horse like this on there, I expected far more serious issues, like chronic rearers and that sort of thing!
