So little Rose has been very busy getting out and about seeing the world. : ) We’ve been to our second unaffiliated dressage comp, where we were blessed with hideous weather – howling wind and sideways rain. As she twitched and bounced her way around the warm up I did wonder if I should have stayed in bed....but she was very obedient in her test and we got a respectable 61.4% and third place! First frilly, not bad for her second outing. I looked back at my old score sheets for the big ginger boy and we got 47% at our second test!! ...and he turned out alright in the end.

We’ve also had a couple of jumping lessons. We’d done rustic poles at home, and little logs out hacking, and when it came to the coloured poles she did have a bit of a 'WTF is that!' moment, but soon got into the swing of it. I know I need to stop riding so defensively (my own issues having ridden a dirty stopper). Need to relax a little and just go with her. It is tricky, old habits die hard, but i am trying.

Grass pics are from a lesson, indoor pics are from hiring a venue yest, hence why they are a bit on the small side as I didn’t have anyone pushing me! (apart from boyf, who thinks i was being a whip!) But we saw fillers, went in an indoor school and boxed all by ourselves. All progress. : ) Apologies for the quality, ipad didn’t like being indoors.

Thanks guys : ) She is a real cutie, gets lots of admiration wherever she goes. We are off to do dressage on grass at the weekend, at a busy family orientated show - that could be interesting! But all good experience for one who isn't quite 5 yet. : )
