looks like she has a good jump on her too

I'm not sure how much money you'd make on it when it's already nearly 4K? Bear in mind your livery costs, feed costs, entry fees and so on, then think about how much it would sell for...would it be worth it?

I would have thought you'd be better looking for something cheaper if you want to make some money.

we have been looking quitely since october-ish, and have found NOTHING cheap and good enough to have potential. Anything with "potential" isn't cheap nowadays

yep, i know that feeling. I've been browsing as intend to get a project myself in the spring, and not found anything much good. She's nice, but not what i'd all project pony material.

SCE keeps her horses at home (i think!) so livery costs etc probably wouldn't be such an issue and if she turns into a bsja pony then parents will pay silly prices for something that gives their kids a few wins. Think it's well worth it - she looks quite flashy so could maybe show as well?

Nice little pony, not sure she's right if you are wanting to make a profit though. I suspect you would loose money on her if kept for any length of time.

she's lovely and has a good little pop, but like everyone else has said, is she really a 'project pony', seems quite expensive, but then again if she's what you are looking for and you can't find anything cheaper then why not go and have a look and see what you think?

Personally think is over-priced already when got no actual proof of success. Plus I would be wary of anything that says 'needs a confident rider' anyway! IF it were to make a BSJA/eventing pony the great but it's a big IF isn't it, and I would still be looking for something more around the £1500 or less mark unless it's bigger!

There's a nice Lippazaner for sale on horsemart - 15.2hh 3 yr old (i think) for under £2000, to me (if I had the money) would be a nice project, does a bit of jumping from the looks of it. Plus I have an andalusian x TB who we got as a 4 yr old and he has a fab, calm temperament, he loves his jumping (although never had done any x-country before we got him) he has now completed a few intros and a pre-novice and he's only 7 now. We bought him for under £2500 and he would now be well over double that due to his winnings BSJA etc.

Guess depends if you're after a horse or pony. Ours was for sale as the previous owner deemed him 'too slow'. well yes he's very relaxed hacking etc but when doing his 'job' he's a different horse!

Anyway, that's my bit of advice (not sure if any use whatsoever! ha ha)

I've seen the other photos on the sellers website and these, along with the one in the ad you quote, don't convince me that the pony has the technique to make a good BSJA pony. If the mare doesn't use her shoulders well enough then no one in juniors is going to pay the huge money that is often quoted as she will struggle with a track of any size.

The pony looks like a lovely PC/RC type and if that is accurate, there's little or no profit in her. Sorry not to be more positive.

If you're looking for a real project there were some that looked good on project horses not so long ago - not sure if they're still there now but I was seriously considering one of them.
I repeat what everyone else says - you just will not make a profit on that horse.

I think you would make a profit on that horse if you got it out BSJAing and got some double clears on it -they go for around the 6k mark then.

However as it is not a novice ride you are already limiting your market and therefore I wouldn't buy it..

My auntie has bought several ponies and horses for no more then 2k but they were just backed but safe, you just have to look around and maybe ask locally if anyone knows anything.

Good luck with your search.

Having just had a quick browse, their are definately one or two on project horses that I would deem suitable - if you have the ability. Have a browse.

I think its not really a project pony as its already rather pricey IMO! But depends on your idea of a project, my past "project ponies" have been bought with the intention to have some fun with them, bring them on etc. and then sell them for profit. Ive never spent over £500 on my projects (13.2hh's and 14.2hh's) and always made at least £2k profit after approx 3 months work.

Do you have the experience to do this? Havn't you tried this before with not much success?

eh?
I have never bought a project horse before lol!
I bought Harry for hunting and he was a b*stard, but i wouldn't say it wasn't successful as we got him showjumping which apparently he "didn't do" and stopped his bucking and sold him for £2000 profit.

Thanks everyone for advice- mum just pointed her out to me this morning so thought i would see what you guys thought first.

will keep looking for something cheaper.
