I am looking to purchase a trailer for my husband to do up for me....needing a new floor etc is not a problem (he recently fitted a new floor in a friends lorry), he is a mechanic so nothing is going to be a problem really...

How much should I be looking at spending on something in need of a complete overhaul? I was thinking about £200 ish although Ebay they seem to be a bit more..preloved has a few at about £300. Does anyone have any ideas?

I was rather hoping for something a bit rounder in shape rather than the really square looking ones. I think its an old Rice im thinking of?

Thanks everyone!

Thats what I thought - they seem to be making a fair bit on ebay. I guess people get carried away bidding thinking they are getting a bargain!! I guess I need to search a bit harder than ebay to pick up a real bargain..

Hi

I bought a trailer at the start of this year out of our local paper it was £325.00 n had just had a new floor & new tyres but needed respraying and my dad is a mechanic and jack of all trades so did all of it for me(spoilt rotten) but keep looking i got a bargain so they are out there!!! mine is the old rice type but i love it, it's so reliable!

I bought one a few years ago to renovate. I found it in the local paper, so haver a look in local papers, tack shops, even autotrader. You'll be surprised where you'll see them advertised.

Don't bother its not worth it. I bought a horsebox trailer on e-bay for £750 as I needed one quick. I do the repairs myself and to refurbish mine new suspension units auto reverse brakes and coupling plus the welding I do myself cost me another £1200. Buy the newest one you can.
