ive got one, its fab, use it without the riser pads in, but know the option is there to add in padding if horse loses abit of weight etc, execclent back protection imo
I would just warn you what my chiropractor said. If you are using a front riser of any description what you are in affect doing is pushing more weight toward the back of the saddle and whilst you have solved the problem that pronounced withers brings, this solution could be detrimental to your horse in the long run.
Not sure if I believe that apple cart... because when I use a front wither pad (prolite) it lifts the saddle up from her withers but there is still more weight at the front of my saddle than the back...
Surely its better to get the saddle up away from the withers and maybe put a tiny weeny bit more weight back than have it pressing down??
In answer to OP- I have the prolite wither pad which is great, wouldn't be without it!!
I bought the prolite front riser on the advice of my saddler. In my case horsey had dropped loads of weight off and had very poor muscle development either side of withers. I went from needing 2 of the inserts either side er ummh hang on a tick while I check, 5th December I bought it, so its taken me a month to go from 2 inserts to 0 inserts and I antcipate removing it in another couple of weeks.
He suggested that with my young horse I would be better having this and adjusting as needed than continualy getting the saddle refitted. My Chiro agrees with him.
PS well thats cheered me up you have helped me work out it has only taken a month to build up the weight loss that he suggested wouldnt come back until April.
