I dug deep to buy one of these & want to love it but it's going on ebay. Just me?? 😔

Once worked in it goes up 3 holes on each side , so I wouldnt want a bigger one but getting it done up in the first instance is a total pain!! Horse does puff out a bit & im used to girths with elastic. There is literally no give at all in the prolite, i found its hard & pretty rigid and actually really slippy! The more i try to get it done up the more my saddle ends up slipping over to one side- this has never happened. Once riding I find my saddle feels as if it might slip & i find myself shoving weight down on one stirrup to straighten up. There is no doubt Im not straight myself, ive got hip problems but for some reason this girth is not helping stability at all. My saddle is as good a fit as it could be, m2m & recently checked. Ive swapped back to my lovely old, soft leather girth with elastic at both ends & bingo, no issues at all. Gutted, what a waste of money 😔

The Prolite let my saddle slip to one side, had minimal stability. It also rubbed my horse raw to the point that she had to have a week off work while the cut healed. I wouldn't try it again if you paid me.

that’s interesting to read, sorry to read about the rubbing, I can see how that would happen actually - they are really rigid.

I love my Prolite dressage girth, yet couldn't stand my full length Prolite and sold it.

Very very very very slippery until I let it get dirty, then just slippery. Saddle not stable at all.

Cut the loops above the buckles off. They are completely unnecessary and make it hard to do up.

I love mine http://geegeeandme.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/prolite-dressage-girth-review.html?m=1

I too was unsure of the material to begin with & my horse is sensitive and does rub (however comfortable with using a sheepskin cover of required) but it didn't and hasn't rubbed even freshly clipped skin.
True they do not have any elastic therefore if your previous girth had any elasticity you will notice a difference with no give.
I use the dressage one.
My normal jump saddle girth goes up two easily on both sides then before I get on three/four but understand girth fits/lengths can be personal choice.
