Prolite pads - do they alter the fit of the saddle much?

umm, depends on type of saddle and how snugly it fits, i think. yes, they do lift it a little and make it slightly narrower at the front. i swear by them though. Master Saddler told me that they have the best results of all with Pliance Pressure Testing system with prolites under saddles.

yeh i'd say it lifts them slightly but less than putting sheep skin pads underneath. my horse working much better in his already though.

I use the multi prolite pad where you can adjust both front and back to suit. Cost about £70 and I'd be lost without it. As my gelding has built up muscles, we've reduced it pad, by pad so has been invaluable.

Yes they will alter the fit.

You need to be careful as others have said it will lift slighly and be a little tighter fit, but could also cause pressure in other areass (top/behind shoulder, where your saddle is designed to fit closer (tree points) (which is not as easy to feel by running your hand down) therefore to be on the safe side, I'd have it looked at by a saddle fitter to make sure your saddle will be ok to accomodate a prolite pad.

agree completely with kenzo on this one. mine makes my saddle too narrow ( i picked it up cheap 2nd hand) it sinks a bit if I sit on it but not happy. It makes the saddle too tight on the points behine the shoulder. My pone has some white marks behind his shoulders (only visible when clipped) and not sure if was previous saddle but I have my suspicions about the prolite. I tried it on again the other day as horse has had a sore back but too tight.
