A quick check on the cctv last night before bed, I was totally sober, and oh my god, my horse was upside down in the corner, head and neck stretched out.

I raced down the lane, yard is only a mile away from home, cold sweat pouring off me, and into the barn. The horse was peacefully munching his haylage, glanced at his watch and queried the time of my visit with a quizzical look and asking if he could have breakfast early. There was no sign of rolling or casting.

I returned home and looked at the laptop again. Somehow I had twizzled the camera until it was giving an upside down picture on the laptop ! There is no hope for me I fear.

Sorry glad I did not make the promise but now heading to kitchen to find cloth to clear up the water I covered the key board with. Message to self should not have liquid near keyboard!!!

Glad the horse was ok though

I have just checked him and the OH has just asked if I would like a diagram to help me identify if the horse is the right way up.

Honestly, I have only had horses for 37 years, I cannot be rushed in my learning process.

slightly jealous that you have cctv on your horse...don't think I would get anything done if I had that!!

It originated as a foal watch camera and then was used for a sick horse watch and was used a lot. Now it is just a quick look before bed and early morning.

It is a very good way of learning the horses routine, especially with the broodmare, she stuck to a routine of eating/resting and wandering about during the last 2 weeks prior to foaling. I found I could look at the time and be able to say what she would be doing, it was fascinating.

Just make sure it is the right way up !!!

What system is it? What is the range... I've been thinking about CCTV ing the barn but haven't the foggiest about where to start...

:)
