Okay, a wee disclaimer but proof that I'm an idiot nonetheless. I WAS completely compos mentis when I turned in for bed last night at 9 pm. I can't even blame "being tiddly" as I've not imbibed in anything alcoholic since Christmas (I'm not much of a drinker anyway). I was maybe a bit tired having had a really busy day, but not overly so.
So I set my alarm for 5.30 as usual. Dogs tend to get up with me as they want their brekkie as I'm the brekkie chef. Alarm went off, I staggared off to the kitchen dutifully and put the kettle on to boil, got the coffee maker set up and wondered why I was so tired. I am usually fairly bright and breezy for that time in the morning, but really tired...and then it also occured to me that the dogs weren't tripping me up. No sounds of them zooming in and out the cat flap. Hmmm, I'd noticed my wee BT was sleeping lots yesterday but normally he is THE first one for brekkie. Old yin sometimes needs to be woken from her bed as she doesn't hear any more so doesnt always notice me going off to kitchen. Poodle never misses a step. So where ARE they?
Sat down at laptop to see what was going on in the world of AAD and thought I was seeing things when I saw the clock on the 'puter reading 01.38. EH???? WTF??? Spun round to look at clock on oven - yep, same time. Microwave check...still same time. OMFG...I set my alarm for the middle of hte night? How on earth?
I went and grabbed the offending alarm clock to see what the problem was - and it wasn't that I'd set the alarm wrong, I'd accidently set the TIME! But do you think I could FIX it the first time round? Or even after several attempts? Finallly on maybe try number ten, I got the time sorted and went back to bed...and really struggled to get back to sleep.
But the dogs never even raised a brow. THEY knew it wasn't breakfast time! LOL
Yes, proof - my dogs are MUCH smarter than me.
And the funnier bit was as I was struggling with the alarm clock I realised that I had put my PJ top on back to front the night before. DOH!
And if that wasn't bad enough, after the real wake up call, after breakfast and LOTS of coffee, and as I was getting ready to go see horse - I pulled over a fleece and looked down, it too was on back to front.
I'm sorry in advance to any dogs I groom today - back to front!
