All week my mother has been mean to me.... I've been starved (even jumping out of the field and scaring Grandad didn't seem to make the point that we don't like the field!), had 2 thirds of my mane forcibly removed, and been worked half to death....

Then tonight mum arrived, dragged me into my stable, brushed me vigorously, then made me trot up the big hill, using my bottom, without running! she gave me 2 minutes breather at the top, then made me walk down the gallopy track then gallop back up it, then gave me 2 minutes rest before we walked home... I was quite sweaty by the time we got home.

Tom was being a fool and did more galloping while I was out than I've done in the whole of this week! He's dug a big trench in front of the gate and made mum more mean. So mean in fact that she washed me... not rinsed like normal but proper scrubbed with some poofy smelling green goo stuff. Tom stood at the gate and laughed at me. Mum said I smelt bad and was greasier than a very greasy greased pole....

How very racist of her.

Mum then put Tom and I in (with no haylage I might add), swept the yard down (leaving us with no haylage for a good 10 minutes), and then went to make us some dinner (still no haylage).... just as I thought that she was going to feed us, I spotted the final proof of how mean she has been to us lately... She had to scoop the cobwebs out of the buckets first!!!

She did feed us, I got a tiny handful of chaff, and a bit of high fibre nuts... I'll never survive.... But Tom got even less than I did, so I suspect I'll be an only pony by tomorrow morning as Tom will waste away.

We got turned out into the little paddock later on, so no chance of much to eat there either, so I'll follow Tom shortly. :(

On the plus side, my friend Dex's mum is taking me on a pleasure ride on Sunday as Dex has a poorly leg and mum is doing the organising and then has to go to something with the band she plays with.... What is a band? Apparently, mum blows her own trumpet a lot according to OH...

Dear Ron,
I think there must be something in the air at the moment  Both me and the Big Burley Girl are on short rations  Only The Old Lady is being given any real grub in a bucket. The Person I Own has dug out my 'other' saddle, which is nuch comfier, the other one must have shrunk, as it has been pinching me! Auntie A is being no better than The PIO, when she took TBBG out today she left me in the stable with only a VERY small amount of Haylage :( Also what is with these people and steep hills? My numpty made me WALK up a hill which is only marginally less steep that a house end, trotting would have been so much easier, but no I had to 'walk out' up it We have a grandad too (he's The Old Lady's Dad) but we never scare him, he is too good to get treats out of to risk that :D

Ron,

You think your mum is mean! I can't even remember what my feed bucket looks like, when I get ridden and do something wrong I have to do it again and again and again until I submit and do it eight just to get HER off my case and (oooh lucky me!!) I get to send all day with my nose in a gimp mask so I don't eat too much grass.

And she wonders why I do a runner at stupid o'clock in the morning. Humans are just mean I tell you - just MEAN!!!

Bob.

Ron,

Well, we have a Dictator over here! Out on a ride AGAIN this morning, working hard...have done nothing but, all summer long! Summats about 'the season starting soon so must crack on', but I tell ya....being dragged out the field early most days, is pretty damn annoying....

Tight-fisted rations when we get back, water sploshed all over to hide the obvious abuse when we come back, sweating cobs.....then expects us to be happy with a few treats when we get turned back into the field??

Tsk.....

Be safe Ron.....

Ron,
You've got it easy! I had a very wierd week and don't know how I will recover from it.

Last week I got bathed and bundled in the trailer with mucking out tools strapped to the wall. I ended up in some form of organised chaos called pony club camp. It was like prison. Lots of my mates were there, and my rider got locked up there too. We had to do two hours of hard labour a day, plus two shows, and they got us up at 7am each day. I don't do mornings! I had to have daily baths to get rid of my stains and everything! My girth has gone up two holes on each side! Thankfully, today mum came and bailed me out. I dragged her across the carpark and, on working out which was our trailer, went up the ramp like greased lightening. Thankfully they took me home and I actually got to go out without my muzzle for once. There are rumours of a XC competition on Sunday too, but thats only if they can get near me to catch me. Hee hee!

ron,

i havent even seen my food bucket since i moved house last year! & there's only been 2 packs of polos! how is a cob meant to maintain his fatness!! there is also a hill in my field & several hills when i am forced to go for a walk. i had never even seen a hill before last october.

help!!

Ron!
I thought horsey heaven had arrived! My mum left me for 2 weeks to go somewhere called Amerrricar....... 2 weeks off! But 'Scarey riding instructor' rolls up 4 times and fetches me out of my field!!!!!! How mean is that? Mum goes on holleeday and I get to work!!!!! And NO feed at all! Luckily, they seem to have forgotten about the Gimp mask....

Ron

My mummy is not only mean she is lazy and has no regard for my safety. She took me away from my best mate and i had to walk all the way to the village, then she got off,(very quickly) laid down in the road and went to sleep. How lazy is that. I had to find my own way home, which was very inconsiderate of her as i could of got lost or hurt (she left those stap things dangleing over my head, for me to trip over). She then got a lift to somewhere called hospital ? and now spends all day in bed !!! Mean while me and the old ginger one have him who pays the bills visit us,but thats not so bad as he gives us treats that she never does.

Dear Ron,

You got it easy!
I havent even had Summer off!

Annnnnd Mum keeps saying unless I learn to stand still without turning around to look behind me all the time we wont even be allowed out for fun!!!
(well how do I know Charlie isnt stood behind me!)

You gus want to come and live with me. It's great. I get fed everyday with this sugary stuff called molasses as mum says he trying to hide something in my food? I only do little bits of work each day and the rest of the day I spend with my best mate chatting to the girlies over the fence. I hope my mummy never sells me as you lot sound neglected!!
Yours sincerley

Dear Ron
My heart goes out to you. You do indeed have a torturous experience. I on the other hand am fed twice a day and have a big lush field. Mama says that I am lucky as I don't seem to put on any weight. I must say she piles the food down me in Winter and seems to have a scowl on her face constantly, especially when she pays the farmer and his large trailor machine for my hay. Mama, on the other hand, is a big fat lump and needs some rations herself. I have distinctly implied she needs to loose her big winter padded mac in the vain hope she will drop a few - you would think that lugging that hay about alll the time would have had a marginal effect on her vast bulk, but I saw her eating a Starbar the other day. What can you do 'eh? I'm bending at the knees for goodness sake. I need my daily danilon just to carry the fat bitch!

Dear Ron

My mum at least feeds me but I havent been out in the field without my lip mask for aaaaaaaaggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. Boy carrot man didnt put it on last week and when mum came to get me I thought stuff this im staying put!!! Then mum got angry and left me on my own....so I decided to come in. Its scary out on my own without my new friends.

I went out yesterday it, it was a bit werid because I never saw a car, lorry, bus and just walked on grass all the time. We had to do this weird thing where mum walked me to the fence and then opened it making me go sideways and backwards, I didnt like that and we did it alot. Plus the fence had horrible white square things on it which were a bit scary.
Then she mentioned that I needed to get fit and we walked up this massive hill, and I mean massive it was never ending I was sweating at the top!!!!!!!!! Still no cars though or tarmac.
Very pretty views up the top, I had to stop and have a look. I met loads of people who said I was a pretty ( I knew this already) and they all had woofers with them, one came to say hi!!!

Then I met a few cows, now this is what is weird, I live next to one and there is a huge shed with loads in just opposite my stable BUT these ones were in a field....maybe they had got out. So I thought I better make sure mum knew this, I had a bit of a jog and a whinny (people like it when we do that dont they :D ) but she left the poor cows out in the field hope they didnt shrink, it rained last night here and cows are pretty stupid. And I was in my nice warm stable mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Anyway Ron, good luck, I have a feeling your mum has a job for you coming up ;) I am hoping I can stick to the cow patrol job

Samba x

Hey Ron,

You should come out at my barn, mum never gives me baths and we have a lot of fun hacking out. Although it's a bit scary going out and there are a few ghosts. Mum wants to walk out but it's us who decide, so sometimes we stop, other times we trot. It's great fun to start trotting off while mum is trying to get back in the saddle after closing the bridleway gate. Surely mum likes it too, her and the other lady laugh a lot, something about a typical chestnut mare...
Also wanted to say that I'm actively looking for a male in my life (even if mum is embarassed by my behaviour and said something about geldings not being real males, pfff, what would she know?). I'm well built, 16hh1 tall, take 6"3 rugs and love foals, text me if you are interested.;)

I can't say much as I am too weak from lack of food.

I can manage to say though ' I hate my mum' :(

Even standing in the corner of my field all day looking sad has not made her change my mind grrr I will eat her if this continues

Yours, a fading fast

Oh my - you think you have it bad - I've just spent the winter naked and I don't grow a big coat, I'm half furrybred and half Clydesdale an we had frosts and even some white stuff that floated in the air. Not seen that before - I'ze only free!

Today my Feed Mama (FM) attacked me wiv a hacksaw blade and my hair fell out. Then you pulled the long hairy whiskers out from under my jaw and then she started on my mane.

What is a girl to do - I stomped my feet an squished her against the fence. I got growled at and told I have my first show in a couple of weeks. I do get yummy feed though, sugarbeet and Fibre sure and crushed barley and Linseed and Paprika - the paprika is to darken my coat as I is a true Ginga! Very orange.

My fat mumma is starting to work now and she says it is hard - FM makes her run round on a long rope an she is getting fitter instead of fatter. She is going in ridden Clydesdale classes this year.

Muahaha! Ron i pity you, my saddle doesn't fit so i dont have to do any work!

Oh okay, i'd much rather be on rides than standing in my GRASSLESS field. i get hay rations and a bit of chaff in a bucket..and when mum feels like it she makes me run round the field in circles .. okay i walk but it's still tough!!
secretly i want to go hacking but don't tell her otherwise she'll get a saddle that does fit me and i may have to school too!
The naughty Welsh :D

Hi Ron,
I feel really sorry for you - I know what its like not being fed for agesss and not being allowed any grass.

My mum is meant to let me out in the field during the day so I can eat eat eat - as its my favvy thing in the world, but no she lets me out in the bare paddock and does this thing called strip grazing which basically means i'm only allowed 3 mouthfuls of yummy grass a day!! Its so mean!

Mummy has been making me trot the whole way around the hilly block recently and she now finally says I'm the right weight, I personally think I look like skin and bones....Mum says I'm too good a good doer.... I don't know what that means but I think she's wrong - I need more than 3 bites of grass a day....

But we did do this really cool thing called cross country schooling last friday - it was mega fun! So fun in fact sometimes I forgot how to stop and sometimes I wasn't really paying attention to my mummy so she was shouting "steering out the window!" It was good fun and she let me have 2 sweets when I got home coz I was a good babba!

Anyway Ron, I'm sorry to hear about your mummy being mean - mabey phone ponyline or something?? But my mum does say that she has to be cruel to be kind - I don't really get that but maybe thats what she means too?

Much love, from an equally starved and abused pony whos also made to work hard to "watch the tubbyness" xxx

Dear Ron,

I think you should come and live with me - Mum says it often looks like I've had a party in my stable so I'm sure one more wouldn't make a difference???

My humans haven't been on me in months now...something called "Cushions?" and it means I get two sugar free polos and a little pink tablet every day - but if I'm clever and quick enough I can spit the tablet out.

I get to go out to eat green every day and sometimes I'm even allowed in the bigger field - not quite sure what to do with all the space though. Today I came in with puffy cheeks - something called netels? I think they're the weedy greens I eat which itch my mouth!

This must be a new thing, these 'hills', my mum keeps saying once I am back being ridden (ha. ha. They'll have to get a saddle on me first! ;)) I will have to do a lot of 'hillwork' to get fit again. They can keep on thinking.....

I get to stand in my stable or the green space every day and watch my sister and daughter go out with my humans.....bliss :D

I feel for you too Ron, Millie the new horse gets a huuuuuge bucket of feed and I don't even get a mouthful :( She even says that if it wasn't for Millie being fed then I would only get half of what I do! She even chased me round the school yesterday and made me jump. She took me out on a long ride the day before and made me trot and canter for nearly 3 hours  She even changed my food, I don't get the sweet stalky stuff (haylage) anymore, I get this other stuff and it's all wet (soaked hay) :( but I have to eat it otherwise I would starve. Apparently "it will all make sense in a few weeks and I'll love it" but I'd rather be able to eat!
