I know it's not perfect, but I wasn't concentrating on him as much as I should have

and although he walks ahead at one point, HE COMES STRAIGHT BACK!!!

Bear in mind, this dog couldn't go off the lead a few months ago as he was sooooo unruly!
Also, he's a Springer, my heel will always be two foot in front to him

I love the way he is trying sooo hard to keep his energy contained, so he looks like he's walking with tight trousers on

Edited because I put a picture of Hen, not a video of the bloomin' dog

(I should admit, shortly after this video ends, Otto disappeared off after a rabbit

He is getting there though

Never, he gives me lovely cuddles when I'm feeling sad about the Broken Beast!

Although I would have packed his suitcase this morning, as he decided that the memory card with ALL my photos of Hen on, was clearly edible

He has snapped the thing in half!

ahhh, he is cute as hell mincing along about to explode, love him, did he catch the rabbit?

[/ QUOTE ]

Fortunately not, his eyesight is sharp as hell, so he spots them from miles away, but by the time he gets there, they're safely in their burrows

He can do it properly, it just takes ALOT of concentration on my behalf, he knows when you aren't giving him your full attention!

Bless him - r u sure it was the effort of trying to walk and not a side effect of his recent surgery......

Sweeps heel is exactly in the same place - isn't every spaniels??!!
grin.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL! I did think that, but he has always walked like that when trying to contain himself!
grin.gif

It is definately a Spaniel thing!
However there is a good reason. In terms of Gundog training, Labs are taught to walk at heel from the word go (or should be!) because they do alot of walking at heel then are sent out for a retrieve. Spaniels are taught heel last, because you want a Spaniel working out in front of you, not superglued to your leg....

That's our excuse anyway

Good boy, Otto. Stella is basically glued to my husband's side when out on walks, although the same cannot be said of best bud Crow, who, on account of being part Border Collie, runs in these massive arcs from time to time.
