Proper recommendations for products that work!!

I use baby oil in a spray bottle and spray it onto the tail and leave for a few mins and then brush it out a lot cheaper than some de-tangler products!!

Also I use sainsburys basic conditioner (about 27p a bottle) and after washing his tail put a small amount through the ends and wash out...keeps his tail soft and tangle free for a few days! :)
 
My buff! - versatile clothing for you, can be used as a hair band, hat, scarf, balaclava, sweat band etc etc etc only £12 and you wouldn't believe how much warmer a little thin bit of jersey fabric can make you. During winter mine is pretty much surgically attached to my neck, it makes like a poloneck collar and really keeps you warm. If it is extra cold you can just pull it up over your head!

Merino thermals and socks - the long sleeved vests especially, but they do leggings and allsorts. Not only are they warm, and breathable and wicking they are resistant to smells!!! Result!

Goretex - I would happily pay the extra to have a goretex coat, or goretex lined boots whenever possible. 100% waterproof, but breathable so that you don't get the clammy sweaty feel when you are wearing it.

Neutrogena hand cream - not expensive but brilliant for dry chapped hands (or anywhere else) and it lasts forever as you only need a teeny tiny bit.

Palmers Cocoa Butter lip salve - penetrates and moisturises better than vaseline or any other brand, smells lovely and not too expensive.

P20 sun cream for summer - lasts all day and doesn't feel greasy or sticky - expensive but a little goes a long way so well worth it.

De-icer spray - buy it from the pound shop cheap, the brand doesn't matter, but it is sooooo worth it when you don't have to stand in the cold scraping ice off your car, just spray and go, with a big smug grin on your face as you pass next door scraping their cars! Much safer than pouring water on, and can also be used on things like frozen locks, door seals, etc etc

Sorry mine are all person related, as I've not got my own horse to buy horsey stuff for at the moment but I'll second the furniture polish suggestions! :D
 
Seal Skinz - Toastie warms footies because we cant always afford lovely boots!
Green Oil Gels - Heals just about everything!
Rydale Leather Hat - Warm, dry and stylish! (so far)
Roma Sheepskin pad - Just brill
Wash and Go shampoo - Washes Sheepkin numnahs a treat!
BreathFree Herbs - Kept my COPD mare alive for 3more years! RIP

Rambo Wug (the one with half neck and cross over type clips at front. These rugs fit well, stay on all winter, never leak and wash up new and shiney so easy!!!

Is that too many?? Im sure I can think of more!! ;)
 
Ariat boots - the only ones to keep my feet warm
Musto waterproof chaps - godsend in the cold and wet
M&S thermal underwear
Fal outdoor rugs (but seem to need to go up a size)
Tail bags
Leadrope on a chain (for a compulsive chewer)
The premier equine wraps - were great last winter in the snow
Thermatex rugs - I have built up a large collection of all things thermatex and they are fantastic for wicking off moisture - even the dogs now have them! thank god for ebay and patience..
 
Exhibitors quic silver shampoo- best I've tried yet for getting white bits mega white and little bit goes a long way. Had first bottle for yonks.

Ariat boots....Ok not cheap but the only thing that keeps my Raynaud's feet warm
Weatherbeeta Taka t/o rugs.......I have 3 and they're all at least 5 years old
Thermatex cordura leg wraps - you can get cheaper but they won#t last as well nor do such a great job - mine are used and washed a minimum of once a week year in year out and are still going strong after 4 years.
Equiflex joint supplement
Oster Tail brush - nothing else is as good!
WB fleece and Thermo-cell combo rugs - don't bother with Thermatex, they are twice the price and stretch like mad!

7 day mud away - really works, even when my horse was in a hell hole with mud up to his stifle!

Ariat boots 4LR I think mine are, they've taken a hammering and are STILL going strong!
 
Some great suggestions! Can't think of any right now but if I do I'll be straight here!

I bought a jacket 4 years ago from Olympia which I wear all of the time. It keeps you cool in heat and warm in the cold. No idea who it is by but would pay a small fortune for another!

White board for all notes, instructions and emergency tel etc
Corn Oil in the Square Tin £4 from Tesco
Pound Shop for things like soap, containers etc
Cheapy shops for Dustbins, buckets, brooms etc
Hi Viz Waistcoat from JJB sports £1.99!
I managed to talk a storage company I knew into giving me an office cupboard with doors that lock free of charge, which I keep rugs and tack. I also managed to flutter my eyelashes and get it delivered to my stables for free.

I second the baileys lo cal balancer! Brilliant product!

My water bucket on wheels £15.99 from homebase fantastic, makes filling water buckets so easy!

Homemade Haybar made out of battening and holey rubber matts from the range all in all about a tenner!

Rug racks, hooks and shelves, I'm addicted and slightly OCD at the yard!

Oh and my be nice halter for youngsters or poorly mannered naglets, expensive at about £35 but so worth it an easy way to use pressure release to instill manners without using bits etc.

Sure there are lots of others but will only remember them later when I am at the yard!
 
Baby wipes for everything nose to tail and cleaning sweaty head after work (horse, but good for doggies too).
Power phaser fly spray and gel, from leovit; Oh and leovit's tack cleaning and conditioning foam SO EASY and fast for a quick buff up.
Baby oil.
My aloe vera plant, which loses a leaf now and then and we make a gel for any cuts and bumps.
Electric fencing.
Seamfree knickers any make.
Turnout Horsewear rugs are ace, Pessoa not worth the money.
Just popping outside to check the chippings make we use, Ok German Horse Span http://www.german-horse-pellets.de/englisch/products/horse-bedding/horse-span/ are dust free and with my clean lad are really easy to use.
I also get veg oil from the supermarket, salt and lo salt 1:1 for adding electrolytes. Erm, can't think of anything else.

I'll start by saying that the absolute best wellies I have ever bought are my Dublin neoprene lined ones - a fraction of the price of the upmarket ones at only £25, but really really comfortable and seem to be climate controlled (as neoprene should be), cool in summer and warm even in last winters snow. I have already bought a spare pair for when mine eventually wear out! Also I use soya oil in my boy's feed and it has given him amazing condition without fat.

Tub trugs - various sizes, cheap, loads of uses, easy to clean
Muck Boots - no chilblains for the last 2 years
Hay Hutch - allows hay to be fed in the field, holds 2 bales of hay, keeps it dry, hardly any waste, saves filling haynets

Could you tell me a tad more about this bucket have been diagnosed with a condition which makes it really difficult to fill/carry water buckets this sounds if it would be really helpful

Chestfields Mane and Tail shampoo is brilliant, I have trouble using products on my horse as he reacts to lots of stuff but this is totally natural and works brilliantly, I actually use it all over his coat, mane and tail and it leaves him really shiny and clean.
 
Bedmax shavings - easy to much out, no dust and not really any more expensive than other shavings!
