My small w cocker went on a walk last night including some farmers fields to get home have a shower ( she was filthy :-) ) after 5-10 mins she started furiously scrapping / rubbing her feet on the carpets then chewing at them wimpering :-( I washed them again and put Vaseline on them but this went on for most of the evening poor sole . So I'm looking for some robust boots for her but there's so many, I don't want to pay too much as I'm sure she will loose them ?!? Or would paw wax do the job ? I'm thinking it's something that's sprayed on the fields as no problem on canal or roads just tracks next to crop fields

the chances are it is where the new 'hot' stinging nettles are coming through, speak to your vet who may ok giving a piriton dose or just avoid the nettles.
getting boots to stay on a running dog make it pretty much a waste of time especially if you are ot going to invest a lot of money in top quality boots ad eve thise do't always stay on.
