I've seen a load of adverts all of different breeds, all from the same people (same pose in every picture, even clothes!) based in a village near me. I'm not claiming to be psychic but none of the puppies in the pictures look happy, they just don't have that puppy aura about them. There is also a regular ad in the local papers listing around 20 different breeds.

Is there ANYTHING I can do to air my disgust at this breeding practice, presumably their prolific advertising means that they are "accredited" breeders *sigh* and can get away with it... I'm half tempted to go along and have a look for myself (not to buy, obviously)..... it just makes me so cross that this is STILL happening.

Makes me so mad!!

Local council, report them to the taxman, plus look here for more help.

Also go along and have a reccy and pretend to be a buyer, if there are welfare issues you should be able to see (or not, if they are itchy about you having a look around) or smell it.

Is there a local vet? Ask them if they are having lots of sickly puppies from the same source in and see if they can warn others or even put a 'buyer beware' notice up in the waiting room.

RSPCA and Kennel Club (if they say they are accredited) are other routes you can go down. I will say no more

Does their advert actually say they are accredited breeders, because they KC have at long last decided they need to tighten up the requirements for the AB scheme so might be worth a call to them. Our local dog warden is very good at checking up on dodgy kennels, pehaps better to contact the dog warden direct rather than council, but otherwise agree that council may be a good way to go, also trading standards. What breeds are they advertising, westies, ckcs, cockers seem to be favourites of the puppy farmers.

A selection from their website (yes, they have a fab website , you can even order a nice handbag to put your new little puppy in!)... actually no mention of accreditation. Even the phone number is a premium rate, don't miss a trick do they?

West Highland Terriers (Westies)
Poodles
Pomeranians
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
Beagles
Labradoodles
Scottish Terriers (Scotties)
Shihtzu’s
Cocker Spaniels
Miniature Schnauzer
Bassets
Various cross breeds
Yorkshire Terriers
Pekingese

Got to say, the site is very professional and it's obvisouly a big business going on the number of "directors" and "accountants" they have!

Breaks my heart though when I see catergories of puppy... do you want pedigree or designer?! Can PM site address if anyone wants it, not going to post on here, I'll probably the one who ends up in trouble!

Oh, and they have an email subscription service, where you can be kept up to date on imminent litters, for just £4.99!!! Bargain!! (can you tell I'm getting passionate about this?!).... Gah, can even pay your deposit online.

If that is all coming from one premises and this isn't a brokerage or distribution site (not that I agree with that either!) that is industrial scale and all of those breeds are puppy farm gold - have a look on Many Tears to see all the ex-breeding dogs, many of these breeds.

The studs and broods will probably never have been out of those premises in their lives and what happens to them when they finally stop being able to produce?
Neither they nor the puppies will be properly socialised and there will no doubt be inbreeding and no health tests for genetic conditions.

Vet checked does not mean the parents have been screened for preventable problems that can be passed on to their offspring.

Yep, there is a video of some of their stud dogs being posed outside and every one of them looks really uncomfortable, very quiet, no interaction with the handler, the cocker particuarly didn't look right, far too quiet. The commentator in the videos boasts about how how each stud dog is responsible for the vast majority of puppies of that breed, so they are being bred in house.

trading standards (fit for purpose?)? local council re business use? (business rates? reg kennels?) vets, RSPCA,KC,NCDL etc . you can rattle a lot of cages!!

You Sherlock, you! I can't find them.

Shocking though, isn't it? How can somewhere openly trade in so many breeds without someone having already closed them down?

Not a copper's daughter for nothing

Google puppies in Lincolnshire and keep going down the list. You need to be looking for the most vomit inducing cutesy name, that you could imagine saying in your best Essex girl in white stilettos accent... you'll know it when you find it!

Or I could pm it to you if you would prefer - like the OP though, I'm damned if I'm going to post these barstewards on an open forum

'3 generation pedigree with papers' - would be interesting to know what papers as doesn't state KC, but the fact they state pedigree would lead people to think KC.

Yes a lot of people confuse pedigrees with kc registration . A 3 generation pedigree is not exactly detailed, I have never had or given less than a 5 generation .And they are very easy to make up, someone once showed us the pedigree of their dog, interestingly it appeared to be a granddaughter of our stud dog, yet we knew exactly what bitches he had mated and this was not one of them

Definately go to te tax man......add up before hand what he will be making for the pups advertised and gie the tax man an estimate and as if this is the amount he is claiming to be making if at all

I would also try to make some awareness in the local area about the issues of buying from puppy farms, and if u can, go along and see if u can see the parent dog, but more than often they wil bring them into the house from a concrete building to show off the litter and bath the mother dog, often they are clipped right down, or they will bring out a younger loking specimen which is not neccisarily the mother of the litter in question.

A one near us pumps them out and this is how he was doing it, he was also delivering them, and had a 10 year old lab still producing puppies
