Friend at the yard suggested this for Robin. Her horse is prone to colitis and if she sees the start of a flare up will give him the quick fix. It has taken 2 weeks for it to get to me but now I have it I might as well try it. I was expecting it to be one dose. What should I give him? It says 5 or 10 mls and is a 30ml syringe.

I always start low dose and build up with probiotics, to gently introduce them into the gut. If the horse hasnt had them before. So i’d do 2 x 5ml doses, one each day, then if his guts are responding well, on day 3 a 10ml dose and 10ml on day 4.

Ive never used the quick fix from protexin, only their powders, but i understand its a much more concentrated dose in the syringe than the powders, so he’ll get a good dose even with 5ml.

K, I was advised by the qualified veterinary advisors on viovet to administer it for my little chap equally over a 6 day period. I didn’t order it from them and they were more than happy to answer my questions online.
