thought I had better warn you all before I spill my happiness 
Rode the boy properly tonight for the first time since I was kicked by another horse last wednesday, as I couldnt put my knees on the saddle so he has been lunged and we have been for a plod round the fields a few times.
So hopped on tonight and went in the school as we are competing on saturday and he hasnt been schooled properly in ages as we have just been playing round with the lighter evenings. He was a bit tense through his back to start with but he actually started off by stretching big step for pony who didnt understand what was being asked of him and would refuse as he has had his head held in before I got him so very pleased with him so far He then went straight in to a lovely trot no fighting did have to do a bit of work on his transitions as he was being a bit sloppy to start with 
but he soon remembered so all was good again managed to get a rein back without him hollowing so was happy and leg yeilds on both reins with out rushing off then went in to canter and although he hollowed through his transition he then dropped down for a few strides without trying to buck me off so thats an improvment 
he didnt stay there but its progress. Then he went back to the nicest trot ever he was light in my hand and not sitting on my leg strided out to medium across the diaganal maintaing this and came back again without stropping then as he was now feeling great and going nicley we had a go at a bit of shoulder in (he has never done this before) and first time he was fab not perfect by any means but he got the general idea and no I dont understand protests did it a few times on both reins and called it a day very pleased with the pony if this is what lungeing does to him he may well be doing a bit more 
was just so happy with him as he has really come so far, I may be brave enough to do a little picture thread on it sometime.
We also have quite a few cometitions planned in the next few weeks show jumping on saturday and then show jumping or dressage the next weekend (need to chat to the other girl and decide what we are doing) and have found a nice little clear round xc in april so we are going to have a go at that too busy few months ahead for him and we have joined pony club so will have to fit that in some where too sorry but that probably means you will have a few reports from me soon
