Remember I was having all that trouble getting Ned out of the yard?
*touch wood* We have overcome it :D

This morning, I went to the yard to hold a horse for the farrier, as YO had a lesson and had accidently double booked herself. That all went smoothly and farrier left. I was left with nothing to do! I didn't have enough time to ride Ned, the trailer wasn't hitched and it was too wet to do that, so I decided we'd have another crack at leaving the yard.

I had left my bridle and dually at home, but I figured he'd be ok in his head collar. He put up a bit of a fuss at first, no rearing or lashing out, but more "Urg, do I HAVE to?" I told him he did and he walked out with a sour look on his face.
We went back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, I treated him every time he went through and eventually the sour look faded and he seemed to be enjoying it.

He was doing so well, I thought I'd do a little test. I closed all the gates that lead anywhere (he couldn't get back to his field, or out to the road) and just left the problem gate open.

I unclipped him and walked through it...then I heard "clip clop, clip clop, clip clop"
He followed me!!!
We did this several times and he was a star :D it's so nice to see him progress from an evil rearing demon, to a good little pup who's following me around :)

YO came back, I told her and she was thrilled he'd been such a good boy :)
Then the vet arrived, apparently Neddy has his tetanus! I got him back from the field and vet did some checks, then jabbed him. Again, he was a star!

So, as the title says...proud as punch!!!

I have been following your threads and never had the chance to comment or offer advice but I am so pleased you are getting somewhere :) massive well done

I really really admire your perseverance with Ned nah, it will pay off and he will make you the horse owner every horse should have!!

He may never be 100% but he is your blood, sweat and tears. You've earned every little win!

You won't know what's hit you when you own a sweet, easy to do pony :p but I bet you will appreciate it hehe

Thank you so much!
He's already come so far ^^ You're right that he'll probably never be 100% but hopefully one day he'll be a bit more...normal :P

Well done - Ned is coming good (again) He'll be perfect one day with your attention :p

Re comment about not getting much response - if you post at 1pm most peeps are at work!

Neddy made me proud again today :)

He's going out with me and Mum again :D when he started napping at the gate, I thought it would never happen again, but yay! We did it!

He was as good as gold :) I do have a BP on! I love my new massive coat! It's ex police and I found old sugar packets in there!

"What are you doing, woman?"
