Proud Flesh - arghhhhhh!

So long story short.. My horse had a fight with the electric fencing and badly cut her fetlock joint. Luckily it didn't go into the joint. Due to the position of the cut she produced proud flesh. She was box rested for 2 weeks, and bandaged and treated by vet for 6 weeks. It has been cut away twice by vet. She is now back in light work and perfectly sound. However the last bit of proud flesh remains! Vet tells me this is ok and normal but I wondered if anyone else had experienced this and how long it actually took to fully recover? It has now been just under 3 months to get to where we are now!

My vet gave me a steroid??( I think that's what it was) gel to apply that reduced the proud flesh massively

Second a steroid cream, smeared onto around flesh then covered with a bandage. Repeat for a few days, and it will soon go back and allow the skin to heal.
